Purpose:

We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a crucial role in the successful delivery of the services /project with responsibilities in managing the quantification and costing related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget and to the highest quality standard. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quantity surveying, strong leadership skills and a track record of successful services/projects’ delivery. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects related to the quantity surveying process, including cost reporting/control, procurement, and contract management.
  • Lead contract’s administration (pre/ post contract) 
  • Managing the Payment Application process and reporting 
  • Managing and reporting the variations including preparation of related variation log
  • Experience in change control management 
  • Supervising and reviewing the Tender process, Tender Qualification, Award and advising Client with best tender/procurement routes
  • Identify any potential disputes in a timely manner (during pre/post contract stages) and enable introduction of effective solutions.
  • Exposure to legal and financial terms related to construction/projects
  • Ensure that business commercial processes are adhered to at project level.
  • Experience in reviewing and advising on Extension of Time Claims as to the quantum part and cost heads 
  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate financial reports, cost forecasts, and budget updates for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that quantity surveying processes align with industry best practices and quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors, supporting their professional development.

Minimum Qualification:

  • B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying from an accredited University or related, further studies are desirable.
  • Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on high-value and complex projects.
  • Professional membership in a relevant body (like, RICS) will be preferential.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years’ experience in related field.
  • Awareness including managing Standard Form of Contract, like FIDIC, NEC or JCT and/or others.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills. Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality.
